CONTE WANTS WIN
Juventus manager Antonio Conte is searching for a win in the second leg of the Europa league match against Fiorentina. The first match ended in a disappointing 1-1 draw, which puts Fiorentina at an advantage ahead of the second leg. Mario Gomez scored a late equaliser after Arturo Vidal had given Juventus the lead.
Even though the Champions League was the priority for the ‘Old Lady’ at the start of the season, Conte will be more than satisfied with a European success. It has been a long time since Juventus tasted success in Europe and the Europa league could just be the start of it.
Juventus are easily the strongest team left in the competition, as the lead the Italian Serie A by almost 15 points. Carlos Tevez, who was signed from Manchester City for around £ 10 million, has been in impressive form for the club. However, he has been injured for the last couple of matches, but Conte has revealed ahead of the second leg that he intends to use the Argentine from the start. This will be a major risk for Conte, but it is one that the manager is prepared to go ahead for the sake of the team. The striker has scored 15 in 31 appearances.
"We'll look to honour the Europa League with pride, passion and enthusiasm. We'll give it everything we've got. Every game in Italy is full of tension and pressure. We're used to this, Juve must always win and the same applies (on Thursday). We've got plenty of respect for them (Fiorentina). There isn't one specific player to fear, the team as a whole is full of top individuals. You can't hide the fact that Fiorentina have excellent players. They have the ability to give you a hard time and can also count on a capable coach," said Conte.
