Carlos Tevez was recently involved in an ugly tackle
Carlos Tevez was recently involved in an ugly tackle with Ezequiel Ham in the Argentine Primera division.
The opposition player suffered a broken leg as a result of the tackle. Following the game, Tevez has said that he will meet withEzequiel to offer his apologies, as he did not intend to hurt him. It was a 50-50 challenge where both players went in with full enthusiasm. Tevez returned to the Argentine league in the summer on a free transfer from Juventus. His club, Boca Juniors, managed to get a 3-1 win over Argentinos Junior. Apart from making an impact with his challenge, Tevez also scored two goals in the game.
The victory has seen Boca Juniors maintain their two-point advantage over San Lorenzo in the table. Tevez has been a huge hit since returning to his hometown club. He has featured in eight games and scored four goals. Still just 31 years of age, Tevez has the capability to dominate the domestic game for quite a while. However, he does not want the domination to result in injuries to others. Argentinos coach Nestor Gorosito, however, refused to accept the apology from the player, as he felt that the tackle was done with full intent.
"It makes me angry because I went for the ball. It was neither malicious nor my intention to hurt him.The touch told me I'd done something wrong. I'm sad because I didn't want to do anything bad to him. I've never hurt anyone, this is my first time. Now I'm going to see him and apologise, as I should do,” said Tevez. "It wasn't unintentional. We were three metres from the incident and you could see it. Those who have played football know these things," said Nestor Gorosito. The defeat brought an end to the three match unbeaten run for Argentinos.
