Carlos Tevez is uncertain about his long-term future
On December 29 of 2016, Carlos Teveze became one of the highest paid footballers as he signed with Shanghai Shenhua in a contract that would allow the Argentine player to earn an annual salary of $41 million.
Carlos Tevez penned a 2 year long deal with Shanghai Shenhua which means that he will be performing with the Chinese club until December of 2018 but in a recent interview, Tevez stated that his future is actually unclear and that he does not know what he is going to do at the end of the year.
“I left not to hurt Boca. Honestly, I do not know what I’m going to do at the end of the year. If I’m hungry for glory, it’s very difficult to stay in the club. I have to find myself to go back; I know I gave them everything’’
“When I left, my silence bothered journalists more than people. The press wanted me to say goodbye with a note, they are difficult. For me it was not easy either. Boca fans always want to see me with that shirt. First, when the millionaire offer came from China, I said no. I had Boca in my head. The final decision was in the last game’’
The 33 year old Argentine attacker has not built a healthy relationship with Shanghai Shenhua and it’s supporters as he was once spotted at Disneyland on the same day that he missed an important match of the club due after it was believed that he was injured.
With a reportedly annual salary of $41 million, Carlos Tevez is one the best paid footballers in the sport but the Argentine player has not managed to prove his worth as he has only scored 1 goal in 7 matches.
Considering all of these issues and the underwhelming start of the season of Carlos Tevez, he might leave the Chinese club before what his contract has stated.
