Carlos Tevez helped Juventus win the double this season
Carlos Tevez helped Juventus win the double this season while also reaching the Champions League final.
The striker ended the campaign with a mightily impressive 29 goals across all competitions. It has been widely rumoured that the striker is very keen on a return to his homeland to end his career. However, Juventus have always put away in the talks of a departure up until now given that the striker is only 31 years of age. He was signed on for just around £ 10 million from Manchester City. Juventus are aware that they will have to fork out a large sum of money if they have to replace a striker like Tevez with the number of goals he has scored this season.
However, transfer rumours have not been able to dissipate and they have in fact grown with the striker being linked with a move to Atletico Madrid. The Spanish club are a surprise contender for his signature, but they have been on the lookout for a new hitman for a few months now. This is after their star striker Mario Mandzukic had fallen out of favour with coach Diego Simeone. Juventus are on a high now, but their director Giuseppe Marotta says that there is a possibility for Tevez to leave the club.
“The possibility that he leaves is quite high but I'm not going to give a percentage. It's more likely that he will leave than Andrea Pirlo. Tevez is a professional and we owe him a lot.But we cannot prolong Tevez's situation for much longer. We must reach a conclusion as soon as possible. We have an excellent relationship with Atletico but we haven't spoken to them yet. Perhaps we will further head (that way), depending on what Tevez decides," said Marotta about the future of his star striker.
