Carlos Tevez bleak future with Juventus
Carlos Tevez’ future has come under speculation over the last few weeks, as he has only 18 months left on his contract with Juventus.
There have been no talks between the club and the player in order to extend the deal. Tevez has been no stranger to commenting that he would like to finish his career in Argentina, where he is regarded as an idol. Even though the 30-year-old has been an important player for the club, it appears that Tevez is in no hurry to extend the deal. His agent, Kia Joorabchian, says that he will sit down and talk with Juventus chief executive when the time comes.
Tevez has been one of the best players in Italian Serie A this campaign after scoring eight goals in 10 league appearances. He has also contributed four assists. This impressive form has seen him get back into the national team fold after a long gap. Former manager Sabella refused to select Tevez because of his inconsistent displays even after the £ 10 million move to Juventus. New boss Gerardo Martino has taken no time to recall Tevez after including him in the squad for the upcoming friendly match against Portugal at Old Trafford. Tevez has made 36 appearances for Juventus since his move from Manchester City and he has already lifted the Italian league title.
“Carlos has another year-and-a-half left on his contract with Juventus, so the best thing is to handle the situation carefully. When the time comes to sit down at a table, then we will talk with [Juventus CEO] Marotta about the possibility of an extension,” said Tevez’s agent. The form of Tevez has been one of the main reasons behind Juventus continuing to challenge for the title, even after three successive wins, and they lead the table with a three-point advantage over Roma.
