BOCA: TEVEZ IS NOT LEAVING

Boca Juniors coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto has come out to deny reports that star Argentine player Carlos Tevez would be leaving the club anytime soon following their failure to win a record-equalling seventh Copa Libertadores.

The player is obviously depressed with the loss as he returned to his boyhood club to help them end their title drought but they lost to Ecuadorean side Independiente del Valle in the semi finals stage of the tournament. The coach on Wednesday admitted to this depression but said the player would remain with the club despite the result.

After more than a decade abroard playing for West Ham, Manchester United and Juventus, the player really wanted to help Boca Juniors end their nine year title wait but the upset happened.

The 32-year old player even stunned them with a 3-2 win and qualified on a 5-3 aggregate.

Boca have won the trophy four times and Tevez was in the team that lifted the one of 2003 before he left.

With Tevez effectively ruled out, it looks like West Ham are keen on bringing in Carlos Becca this summer instead, according to reports. The Hammers have supposedly agreed for a move of £26 million with AC Milan for the striker but they will have to wait for the next 48 hours to know if the purported move to Upton Park will turn out good.

The player earlier expressed his utmost desire to play in the UEFA Champions League as he has not been able to get such at AC Milan, which would have given Atletico Madrid the upper hand in the battle to sign the Columbian international forward, but it seems West Ham are in front again now.

West Ham will be hoping Bacca accepts their terms and agrees to the move as they want another reliable striker upfront going into the forthcoming season, especially if they want to be considered amongst the title contenders.

Bacca scored 18 goals in the past season for AC Milan in 38 games but he could not lift them beyond the seventh position. The Rossoneri even had a chance at a silverware when they played the Italian club but lost to Juventus.

Head Coach at West Ham Slaven Bilic has mentioned his delight to sign the player in a bid to reinforce the team ahead of their Europa League qualification campaign later this month.
