West Ham Striker Reveals Advice from Club Legend Carlos Tevez

Argentina striker Jonathan Calleri has had a difficult time since joining West Ham on a loan deal from Deportivo Maldonado in the summer.

The 23-year-old has managed to feature in nine league games for the Premier League outfit, but all of them have been from the bench.Calleri is yet to make a start, despite seeing West Ham struggle for consistency this season. After the departure of Dimitri Payet, it was expected thatCalleri would start getting more action. However, this has not been the case with the player making only three appearances since the turn of the year.

As a result, there was transfer speculation that the player would be considering a return to his parent club in order to consider his choices. West Ham have a huge reputation when it comes to taking Argentine talent to the next level. Javier Mascherano and Carlos Tevez are two of the most high profile players to have represented the club from the South American nation.

It appears thatCalleri has sought the help of Tevez in order to take a decision on his future. The emphatic advice from Tevez to stay at the London club seems to have persuaded Callerito continue for the next six months.

Tevez initially struggled to shine at West Ham, but he became crucial in avoiding the club’s relegation during the 2006-07 season. Now regarded as one of the greatest stars in the world football, Tevez is earning around £30 million per year at Shanghai Shenhua."I did speak to him a few months ago. When he arrived at West Ham, he was in a similar situation that I found myself in. It was hard for him and it was also hard for me. I am staying here, I want to battle, I have taken his advice on board and I want to be successful and follow in his footsteps," saidCalleri.
