TEVEZ LOSES LEGAL BID ON TAX

An Argentinian Court has struck out an injunction from the legal team representing football star Carlos Tevez. The former Boca Juniors, Manchester City and Manchester United attacker had filed an injunction through his lawyers to challenge the wealth tax from government. The wealth tax has been initiated by the government in Argentina to cater to tax on large fortunes.
The Federal Administrative Court Number 5 in Argentina turned down the bid from Carlos Tevez to avoid paying the ‘wealth tax’ levy.

A law passed by the Senate in Argentina approved the levy in December 2020 and it is for wealth citizens whose assets exceed $2.1m. The levy is dependent on the value of the person's assets and where the assets are situated. The levy ranges from 2 to 3.5%.

HAREWOOD REVEALS REASON BEHIND GREAT ESCAPE

Ex-West Ham United striker Marlon Harewood has revealed what ignited the great escape at the East London club during the 2006/07 Premier League season.

While speaking recently on the UndrThe Cosh podcast,Harewood said there was a huge fight in the West Ham United dressing room weeks before the amazing victory run started and that could have ignited the good form that saw the Hammers secure Premier League safety on the final day of the season.

Harewood became a West Ham United player in 2003 following his transfer from Nottingham Forest and he was in the Hammers squad for the 2006/07 season. The season started dramatically for the Hammers with the signings of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano who both joined from Corinthians in the Brazilian league.

TEVEZ EARNED HIGHEST SALARY IN CHINA

Argentine striker Carlos Tevezfeatured for a lot of teams in leagues in countries such as England, Italy, Brazil and Argentina. However, the player earned the most salary while he was in China.

A report from the Daily Star revealed that Carlos Tevez was earning £610,000 on a weekly basis as his salary while he was on the books of Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai Shenshua. The club had paid £9m to sign Carlos Tevez from Boca Juniors in his native Argentina.

The signing of Tevez at Shanghai Shenshua was masterminded by Uruguayan football icon Gustavo Poyet. Ex-Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea player Poyet made the signing of Tevez as one of the big decisions during his time at Shanghai Shenshua.

Carlos Tevez ended his controversial four-year stay at Manchester City when he joined Italian Serie A club Juventus in June 2013. The Old Lady paid around £12m to secure the transfer of the Argentine striker. Manchester City saved about £27m in total, wages and bonuses inclusive, by letting Carlos Tevez join Juventus.
