Boca Juniors Will Attempt to Sign Tevez and Centurion, Claims President

Boca Juniors have set the ambitious target of winning the Copa Libertadores in 2018.

Club president Daniel Angelici says that he will be looking to bring back Carlos Tevez in the summer transfer window in order to make this possible. Tevez made the move to Shanghai Shenhua only a few months ago. The Chinese club reportedly paid around $ 11 million in transfer fees for the striker.

The deal also has made the forward one of the highest-paid players in the world. Even though it was initially to be around $650,000 per week, this figure is understood to be much less. Tevez is on a contract worth around $280,000 per week, making less than the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

In order to meet the ambitious target of Copa Libertadores success, Boca Juniors will be making significant signings in the transfer window according to the president. The club have been linked with a move forCenturion. The left winger is on loan at Boca Juniors, but the club are reportedly ready to meet his release clause with his parent club São Paulo.

Angelici has denied suggestions that Boca Juniors will have to choose betweenCenturionor Carlos Tevez due to the lack of funds. The Argentine club’s president has responded by claiming that Boca Juniors have enough financial muscle in order to complete both deals.

"I am not going to get into a debate as to whether we should have [Ricardo] Centurion or Tevez. We could have the both of them and still go out and seek top players. Our goal next year is to win Copa Libertadores. I don't want to talk about numbers. Maybe I needed to clarify that we have enough funds for them both. I am not going to choose between one or the other," said Angelici.
